August8,2000 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that notice of this change will be mailed to all registered voters whose polling place is changed at least 15 days prior to the next general, special, or primary election, and BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that copies of this ordinance shall be sent to the Martinsville Electoral Board, State Board, and the Division of Legislative Services when this ordinance becomes effective, and BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that an emergency exists and that this ordinance shall therefore take effect on and after this date. Council Member Dallas moved to adopt the following Consent Agenda; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None: Set a Public Hearing for August 22, 2000, on a proposed amendment to Section VI--General Sign Regulations, Paragraph C--Permitted Signs and Paragraph N--Permitted Signs in Districts of the City's Zoning Ordinance. Council considered adoption of a Resolution authorizing the City Manager to submit a grant application to the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development requesting $49,500 to assist with the City's Critical Care and Derelict Structure Stabilization/Demolition Program. Chris Whitlow, Community Development Specialist, stated, "This would provide funds for projects such as critical care and demolition. We hope that the [grant selection] committee will look favorably on small cities. Seven neighborhoods were looked at in 1994, which was the basis for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program." Vice Mayor Teague stated, "This would allow us to focus on the whole section and help us to identify before it gets to CDBG." Vice Mayor Teague moved to adopt the following Resolution; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None:
