WATER, SEWERS AND SEWAGE DISPOSAL § 23-30 <br /> <br /> assure proper development in the future of the unopened portion of the street or' <br /> right-of-way. <br />(Code 1971, App. C, § 2) <br /> <br />Sec. 23-29. Agreement required. <br /> Prior to undertaking construction of water or sewer line extensions as provided for in this <br />division,' the applicant shall enter into a written agreement with the city, which agreement <br />shall set forth the- applicant's intention to comply with the provisions of this division and with <br />such other terms or conditions as the city may determine necessary. <br />(Code 1971, App. C, § 5) <br /> <br />Sec. 23-30. Required improvements. <br /> (a) The applicant shall be required to install or provide, at the sole expense of the <br />applicant, improvements as follows: <br /> <br /> (1) Streets in which water and sewer lines are to be installed shall be graded for the full <br /> right-of-way width and in accordance with specifications of the department. If it is <br /> determined, and so certified in writing by the department director, that drainage or <br /> hazardous conditions will be caused by grading the full right-of-way width, the <br /> applicant may be permitted to grade a lesser width of right-of-way; provided, howev- <br /> er, if right-of-way is available, sufficient grading shall be done to provide for two (2) <br /> twelve (12) foot traffic lanes and adequate width of shoulders to support the traveled <br /> portion of the street. <br /> <br /> (2) Water and sewer lines shall be installed in accordance with specifications of the <br /> department, including tees, valves, fire .hydrants, manholes, size of pipe, type of <br /> materials used and methods of installation. The applicant shall extend the water and <br /> sewer lines to the end of the street or portion of street which the applicant intents to <br /> improve or develop. <br /> <br /> (3) Storm drains, as may be required, shall be installed in accordance with specifications <br /> of the department, including size, type of materials used and method of installation. <br /> <br /> (4) Base stone having a gradation as required by the department director shall be placed <br /> and compacted on streets in which the utilities are to be extended for a minimum <br /> width of twenty-four (24) feet and compacted to a depth of three (3) inches. In the <br /> event the applicant making the request to install water and sewer utilities desires to <br /> pave the street at his expense immediately after completion of the installation of the <br /> utilities and has conformed to all other requirements as set forth above, he may do so; <br /> provided that the base material shall have a compacted depth of five (5) inches and all <br /> paving shall ~e constructed in accordance with specifications of the city. <br /> (b) Connections will not be permitted to be made to water and sewer lines extended under <br /> this division, until all requirements of this section have been met and fully completed as <br /> determined by the director. <br /> (Code 1971, App. C, § 3) <br /> <br />1369 <br /> <br /> <br />
