WATER, SEWERS AND SEWAGE DISPOSAL § 23-19 <br /> <br />adopting this Code shall affect such terms and conditions and the same are hereby recognized <br />as continuing in full force and effect. <br /> <br /> (b) All water and sewer services furnished by ;the city to premises, whether inside or <br />outside the corporate limits of the city, shall be subject to the provisions of this chapter, as <br />well as the regulations of the city elsewhere provided. <br />(Code 1971, § 17-32) <br /> <br />Sec. 23-15. Connection and service charges, etc., generally. <br /> <br /> Charges for water and sewer connections and rates, tariffs and deposits for water and <br />sewer service, together with the method of collection of such charges, rates, tariffs and <br />deposits, shall be as provided and established by the city council by ordinance. Nothing in this <br />Code or the ordinance adopting this Code shall affect any such ordinance and all such <br />ordinances are hereby recognized as continuing in full force and effect to the same extent as if <br />set out at length in this Code. <br />(Code 1971, § 17~20) <br /> Charter reference--Authority of city to impose and collect charges for water and sewer <br />service, Ch. 1, § 2(14). <br /> Cross reference--Adjustment of water bills to correct errors, § 2-22. <br /> <br />Sec. 23-16. Refusal of service until delinquent utility charges paid. <br /> <br /> ~ The public works department may refuse to introduce water into any premise until all <br />arrears due by the applicant to the city for water, sewer or electrical services have been paid. <br />(Code 197i, § 17-18) <br /> Cross references--Electric service charges, § 7-8; discontinuance of water service for <br />failure to pay tax thereon, § 21-35. <br /> <br />Sec. 23-17. Notice by customer to discontinue service. <br /> <br /> Any person being supplied with water or sewer service by the city and responsible to the <br />city for the payment for such service, desiring to permanently discontinue the service from <br />such premises, shall notify the public works department, in writing, in order that such service <br />may be discontinued. Unless such written notice is given, such person will be held responsibl~ <br />for all water or sewer charges accruing against such premises until the proper notice is given. <br />(Code 1971, § 17-30) <br /> <br />Sec. 23-18. Turning on water unlawfully. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful~ for any person, not acting under authority of the public works <br />department, to turn the water of the city on any premise whatsoever. <br />(Code 1971, § 17-22) <br /> <br />Sec. 23-19. Unauthorized use of water. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person to receive or use water from the city system, knowing <br />that he is not authorized to use such water by the city or some person responsible therefor. <br />(Code 1971, § 17L24) <br /> <br />1367 <br /> <br /> <br />
