§ 23-1 MARTINSVILLE CODE <br /> <br />Sec. 23-44. General conditions. <br />Sec. 2345. Conditions for extensions into subdivisions recorded after April 12, 1955, or <br /> streets dedicated prior to April 12, 1955, but not accepted into state system. <br />Sec. 23-46. Requirements for water extensions along streets in state system. <br /> <br />ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL <br /> <br />Sec. 23-1. Violations of chapter. <br /> <br /> Unless otherwise specifically provided, a violation of any provision of this chapter shall <br />constitute a Class 1 misdemeanor. <br /> Cross reference--Penalty for Class i misdemeanor, § 1--11. <br /> <br />Sec. 23-2. Installation and use of septic tanks. <br /> <br /> Where a building is so situated that the sewage therefrom cannot be discharged into the <br />city sewer system, an approved type septic tank may be installed and used, which installation <br />and use must be according to the specifications of the director of public health and the state <br />board of health. <br />(Code 1971, § 17-5) <br /> <br />Sec. 23-3. Unlawful disposal of sewage and waste water. <br /> <br /> No person shall make use of any vacant lot, or any building or structure without toilet <br />facilities, for the disposal of human wastes, and no person shall make like use of any street, <br />sidewalk or public or private alley. I~o wash water or other waste water producing or likely to <br />produce an offensive odor shall be emptied so as to flow upon any paved alley, sidewalk or <br />street in the city at any time. <br />(Code 1971, § 17-2) <br /> <br />Secs. 23-4--23-13.
