§ 20-18 MARTINSVILLE CODE <br /> <br /> (d) The space between center lines of three (3) meter and:five (5) meter diving boards shall <br />be no less than fifteen (15) feet and between five (5) meter and ten (10)meter boards shall be <br />not less than eighteen (18) feet. The minimum distances from center lines of five (5)meter and <br />ten (10) meter boards shall be the same as to the side walls. <br />(Ord. of 5~10-77, § 9-1.5110]) <br /> <br /> Sec. 20-19. Lighting fixtures. <br /> <br /> Where a swimming pool is to be used after dark, the pool area shall be equipped with <br />lighting fixtures of such number and design as to light all parts of the pool, the water therein <br />and the entire area. Fixtures Shall be installed in such a manner as to create no hazard to the <br />bathers. The design and installation of the fixtures shall be in accordance with the standards <br />of the building code and shall be such that lifeguards, if required by this chapter, can clearly <br />see every part of the swimming pool, including decks, spring boards and other appurtenances, <br />without being blinded by glare. If installed, submarine lights shall provide at least one watt <br />per square foot of pool area. Each submarine light shall be properly connected to a ground <br />wire. <br />(Ord. of 5-10-77, § 9-1.5[11]) <br /> <br />Sec. 20-20. Requirements for wading pools. <br /> <br /> (a) The water supply, lighting, overflow facilities, inlets and outlets for wading pools <br />shall be the same as required in this chapter for swimming pools. <br /> <br /> (b) A wading pool shall be located so that drainage from the surrounding area will not <br />wash contamination into the pool during rainfall. The bottom of the wading pool shall slope <br />not less than .three (3) inches in ten (10) feet toward the drain. <br /> (c) A wading pool shall be entirely .surrounded by a deck at least four (4) feet in width, <br />constructed of permanently impervious material which shall have and retain a finish as <br />smooth as possible and is nonslip to bare feet. The deck shall slope not less than three (3) <br />inches in ten (10) feet away from the pool edge, and the water on the deck shall be discharged <br />to waste. <br /> <br /> (d) Wading pools and wading areas shall be separated from swimming pools by appropri- <br />ate protectional features. <br /> (e) A complete recirculation system shall be installed at wading pools which cannot 'be <br />served adequately by an adjacent swimming pool recirculation system. The recirculation <br />system shall provide a pool volume turnover rate of once in three (3) hours or less. <br /> <br /> (/) A free chlorine residual content of not less than 0,5 ppm and a hydrOgen-ion concen- <br />tration (pH) of not less than 7.2 shall be maintained in all wading pools while in use. <br />(Ord. of 5-10-77, § 9'1.10) <br /> <br />Sec~ 20-21. Requirements for spray pools. <br /> (a) The water sprayed into a spray pool shall be from an approved Supply.
