SWIMMING POOLS § 20-18 <br /> <br />be spaced around. the:pool not more than fifteen (15) feet on centers. The. gutter bottom shall <br />slope toward these outlets with a minimum slope of one+ighth inch to the feet. The drains <br />shall not be less than two and one-half (2%) inches in diameter .and the total orifice area of the <br />grating shall be at least twice the cross sectional area of the outlet pipe, <br /> <br /> (b) Swimming pools with overflowing gutters shall be provided with a water level control <br />tank which will effectively provide for maintenance of the water. level so: ..as to produce <br />constant surface skimming action at all times. <br /> <br /> (c) The above-described gutter may be replaced by an arrangement of overflow devices in <br />~he walls which will provide the proper removal of scum and floating material. There shall be <br />one such device for each four hundred (400) square feet of pool area, with a minimum of four <br />(4) per pool, each of which shall be individually controlle& - <br />(Ord. of 5-10-77, '§ 9-1.5i7]) <br /> <br />Sec. 20-17. Depth markings. <br /> <br /> The depth of the water in a swimming pool shall be marked at every foot increment of <br />depth in water five (5) feet or less deep on both sides of the pool and on top of:the coping. In <br />water deeper than five (5) feet, the markings need not be closer than three (3) feet apart. <br />Numerals and letters shall be at least five (5) inches in size and of good contrast with the walls <br />and deck. <br />(Ord. of 5-10-77, § 9-1.519]) <br /> <br />Sec. 20-18.. Diving boards and areas. <br /> <br /> (a) At least twelve (12) feet of free and unobstructed headroom shall be provided above <br />the diving boards at any pool.
