§ 19-48 <br /> <br />MARTINSVILLE CODE <br /> <br />Sec. 19-48. Spacing. <br /> <br /> Between all service driveways, a space a minimum of eleven (11) feet in length, measured <br />along the property line, shall be required. <br />(Code 1971, § 15-16[f]) <br /> <br />Sec. 19-49. Limitation on frontage used and number of driveways per establishment; <br /> minimum width. <br /> <br /> A maximum of sixty (60) percent of the frontage on each street of a single business <br />establishment may be used for service driveways and not more than four (4) service driveways <br />shall be allowed on each street to a single business establishment. No service driveway shall <br />be less than eighteen (18) feet in width, except that a single business establishment having <br />less than a fifty (50) foot frontage may have a driveway opening of thirty (30) feet in width; <br />provided all requirements, other than the sixty (60) percent requirement, are met. <br />(Code 1971, § 15-16[d]) <br /> <br />Sec. 19-50. Protective curb. <br /> <br /> (a) Where internal movement of vehicles is allowed between service driveways on the <br />same property, a protective concrete curb, six (6) inches high and six (6) inches wide and <br />extending twelve (12) inches below the sidewalk grade, shall be constructed along the prop- <br />erty line between service driveways a minimum of eight (8) feet in length, to within four (4) <br />feet of the nearest edge of each driveway. <br /> <br /> (b) Where driveway entrances are not controlled by the use of curb and gutter, and <br />sidewalks do not exist, this section shall not apply. <br />(Code 197i, § 15-16[e]) <br /> <br />Sec. 19-51. Requirements in area with no curb and gutter or sidewalk. <br /> <br /> Where a business or other public building is constructed in an area not having curb and <br />gutter or a sidewalk existing at the time of construction, service driveway entrances shall be <br />controlled in conformity with the provisions of this article in one of the following ways to be <br />designated by the city: <br /> <br /> (1) By construction of curb and gutter and entrances according to city specifications, <br /> lines and grades. <br /> <br /> (2) By construction of city approved curbed islands according to city specifications, lines <br /> and grades. <br />(Code 1971, § 15-16[h]) <br /> <br />Secs. 19-52--19-61.
