SOLICITATIONS § 17~25 <br /> <br />DIVISION 2. SOLICITOR'S PERMIT <br /> <br />Sec, 17-22. Required. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person to operate as a solicitor in the city, unless such person <br />holds a current solicitor's permit issued by the chief of police. <br />(Code 1971, § 14-2) <br /> <br />Sec. 17-23. Application. <br /> <br /> Any person desiring a solicitor's permit shall make application therefor to the chief of <br />police~ which application shall show: <br /> <br /> (1) The name and address of the applicant who will operate under the permit. <br /> <br /> (2) The name and address of the person the applicant represents. <br /> <br /> (3) All names and addresses used by the applicant or the person represented in the past <br /> five (5) years. <br /> <br /> (4) Whether the applicant has ever been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor involving <br /> moral turpitude, and if so, when, where and of what offense. <br /> <br /> (5) The kind of goods, wares or merchandise offered for sale or the type of services to be <br /> performed. <br /> <br /> (6) Whether the applicant, upon any order obtained, will demand, accept or receive <br /> payment or deposit of money in advance of final delivery. <br /> <br /> (7) The period of time during which the applicant wishes to solicit, sell and take orders <br /> in the city. <br /> <br /> (8)' The applicant's promise to abide by all of the terms and conditions of this article and <br /> all other ordinances and laws of the city. <br />(Code 1971, § 14-3) <br /> <br />Sec. 17-24. Applicant's references and verification of identity, etc. <br /> <br /> An application for a solicitor's permit shall be accompanied by two (2) written personal <br />references on behalf of the applicant and such information or evidence as the chief of police <br />may deem necessary to verify his identity and the factual representations concerning the <br />person he represents. <br /> <br />Sec. 17-25. Fingerprinting of applicant. <br /> <br /> Any person filing an application for a solicitor's permit: may be required to allow his <br />fingerprints to be taken and filed with the chief of police. <br />(Code 1971, § 14~1) <br /> <br />1015 <br /> <br /> <br />
