<br /> <br />~.. <br /> <br />~\ <br /> <br />MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC <br /> <br />~ 12-130 <br /> <br />ARTICLE ~ VEmCLES USED FOR DISPENSING ICE CREAM <br />OR RELATED PRODUCTS ON STREETS <br /> <br />Sec. 12-127. Liability insurance. <br /> <br />Any person desiring to operate a motor vehicle for the purpose of selling or dispensing ice <br />cream or related products in the streets of the city shall, before beginning such operation, <br />secure and file with the finance director a liability insurance 'policy or policies indemnifying <br />such person in the sum of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,OOO.00Hor injury to one person <br />and three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000.00) for injury to more than one person, forthe <br />same accident for which the owner, operator or driver of such vehicle may be held liable, and <br />fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) for property dama~e. <br />(Ord. of 6-10-80; Ord. No. 90-14, 11-13-90) <br /> <br />Sec. 12-128. Special equipment requirements. <br /> <br />In addition to equipment required by state law, every motor vehicle used for dispensing or <br />selling ice cream or related products upon the streets in the residential areas of the city shall <br />have the following equipment installed thereon: <br /> <br />(1) A sign, with yellow background and black letters, mounted on the front and rear of the <br />vehicle and reading "Caution-Children." Such sign shall be read:::;ble up to a distance <br />of two hundred (200) feet. <br /> <br />(2) Amber clearance lamps mounted on the upper part of the front of the vehicle and red <br />clearance lamps on the upper part of the rear of the vehicle, all hooked up with the <br />emergency flashing system of the vehicle. <br />(Ord. of 6-10-80) <br /> <br />Sec. 12-129. Operating hours. <br /> <br />T <br /> <br />No vendor of ice cream or related products shall vend his products from any vehicle on the <br />streets or public ways of the city, except during the hours between one-half hour after sunrise <br />and one-half hour before sunset of any day. <br />(Ord. of 6-10-80) <br /> <br />Sec. 12-130. Stopping for purpose of selling generally. <br /> <br />The vehicle of a vendor of ice cream or related products, when stopped for the purpose of <br />selling, shall be pulled to the right-hand curb of the street or shoulder of the road and products <br />shall be dispensed from the right-hand side only. While stopped for such purpose, the operator <br />of the vehicle shall have his emergency flashers on and his engine turned off. <br />(Ord. of 6-10-80) <br /> <br />Supp. No. 41 <br /> <br />741 <br />
