<br />"" <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC <br /> <br />~ 12-108 <br /> <br />(b) Before any summons or warrant shall issue for the prosecution of any person for failing <br />or refusing to payor contest a parking citation within seven (7) calendar days after issuance, <br />the person shall first be notified, by first class mail at his last known address or at the address <br />shown for such person on the records of the state division of motor vehicles, that he must pay <br />the penalty provided for the parking citation issued to him to the city treasurer within five (5) <br />days or he will be charged with failing or refusing to payor contest such citation. Such notice <br />shall be contained in an envelope bearing the words "Law Enforcement Notice" stamped or <br />printed on the face thereof in type at least one-half inch in height. The mailing of such notice <br />shall be promptly reported to the city treasurer. If no response is received by the treasurer <br />within seven (7) calendar days after the mailing of such notice, th,e treasurer shall cause a <br />summons or warrant to be issued for such delinquent parking citation. <br />(Ord. of 2-24-81, ~ 10-111) <br />State law references-Provisions similar to subsection (b) above, Code of Virginia, <br />~ 46.2-941; issuance of summons or warrant for delinquent parking citations, Code of Virginia, <br />~ 46.2-1225 et seq. <br /> <br />,~ <br /> <br />Sec. 12-107. Ordinances regulating parking defined. <br /> <br />Only those sections of this article which are listed in section 12-103 shall be construed as <br />ordinances regulating parking.
