Establishment of free parking spaces and zones and time limits therein. <br /> <br />The traffic engineer is hereby authorized to establish free parking spaces and zones along <br />the public streets and highways .and in municipal parking lots of the city where it is deter- <br />mined that such spaces and zones would aid in the regulation and control of parking in the <br />city. Such free parking spaces or zones may be designated for parking only for a limited <br />duration of time. Such spaces or zones _ so designated shall be marked by conspicuous signs <br />clearly indicating the maximum duration of time a vehicle may be parked in such space or ' <br />zone. <br />(Ord. of 2-24-81, ~ 1O~90) <br /> <br />n <br /> <br />Sec. 12.81. Overtime parking in free parking spaces generally. <br /> <br />Between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., except Sundays, no person shall park and <br />remain parked in any free parking space on any public street or highway or in any municipal <br />parking lot for longer than the maximum time designated for' such parking space. <br />(Ord. of ~-24-81, ~ 10-91) <br /> <br />Sec. 12-82. Rental spaces in municipal parking lots generally. <br /> <br />(a) The traffic engineer is hereby authorized to designate parking spaces and zones in <br />municipal parking lots for rental to persons employed in the city. Any space and zone so <br />designated shall be conspicuously marked and numbered. <br /> <br />(b) Rental spaces in certain municipal parking lots not needed for customer parking shall <br />be made available on a first-come, fll'st-served basis to firms located in. the central business <br />district for use by their employees.
