Meters required; exceptions. <br /> <br />No electric current shall be supplied by the city, except through meters installed and <br />maintained by the city; except that, on a temporary basis in case of an emergency or as a <br />convenience to the department, the electric department may furnish unmetered electric <br />current on a flat-rate basis and at such rate as it may deem justifiable. <br />(Code 1971, ~ 5-6) <br /> <br />Sec. 7-8. Connection charges, service rates, etc. <br /> <br />Charges for electrical connections and rates, tariffs and deposits for electrical service, <br /> <br />together with the method of collection of such charges, rates, tariffs and deposits, shall be as <br /> <br />provided and established by the city council by ordinance. Operation and maintenance of privately-owned lines and equipment over <br />or through which service furnished. <br /> <br />all distribution lines and equipment, either inside or outside the city's corporate limits, <br />belonging to private interests, over or through which the city supplies electricity shall be <br />operated and maintained in accordance with the building code of the city and with established <br />cogeneration rules and regulations of the city and its electric department. The cost of <br />maintaining such lines may be assessed against the owner and the department shall not be <br />required, in cases of emergency, to notify such owner before repairing such lines or equipment. <br />(Code 1971, ~ 5-9) <br /> <br />Sec. 7-10.
