<br />P-3 <br /> <br />MARTINSVILLE CODE <br /> <br />when accepted on behalf of the city, shall constitute a contract between the city and the <br />applicant, subject to the provisions of this Code and the terms and conditions of service <br />referred to in section 7-2. <br />(Code 1971, ~ 5-4) <br /> <br />Sec. 7.4. Information to be furnished by electric department; service not to be <br />provided for certain apparatus or equipment; correction of deficient <br />installations. <br /> <br />The electric department, upon receiving a bona fide inquiry, shall furnish or attempt to <br />furnish complete information as to the kind of service available and the type and character- <br />istics of electrical apparatus or equipment to be used. The electric department shall not supply <br />service for electrical apparatus or equipment of types and characteristics not approved by the <br />department. Whenever any electrical installation or construction, or part thereof, coming <br />within the jurisdiction of the electric department is found not to conform in every particular to <br />the requirements of the electric department, the terms and conditions of service referred to in <br />section 7-2, the building code of the city or to other ruIes and regulations applicable thereto, <br />the department shall request the customer to correct the deficiencies immediately and without <br />cost to the city. Unless such deficiencies are corrected, the department may refuse or suspend <br />electrical service until such defects are corrected. In the event service is withheld because of <br />existing deficiencies, the city shall not be held liable for any damages which might result from <br />such refusal or suspension of service. <br />(Code 1971, ~ 5-5) <br /> <br />Sec. 7-5. Introduction of service. <br /> <br />The electric department, unless otherwise ordered by the city manager, shall introduce <br />electricity into any premises wherever the department is satisfied that all wires, apparatus <br />and fixtures using or capable of using electricity are in compliance with the rules, regulations <br />and requirements established by or for the department, the building code of the city and the <br />terms and conditions of service referred to in section 7-2. <br />(Code 1971, ~ 5-5) <br /> <br />Sec. 7-6. Service connections to existing private lines. <br /> <br />Electrical service connections to existing lines belonging to private interests over which <br />lines the electric department supplies energy shall be made in accordance with the city's <br />cogeneration policies and only if first authorized by the electric department and if satisfactory <br />arrangements for connection thereto are made by the applicant with the owner of such lines <br />or equipment.
