<br />Appointments to various Boards/Commissions, as
<br />authorized in Subsection 1.
<br />1. Council Member Haskell moved to reappoint Rayford
<br /> B. Smith, of 1108 Knollwood Place, to a five-year term
<br /> on the Board of Appeals, expiring May 11, 2005; the
<br /> motion was duly seconded and carried by the
<br /> following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0;
<br /> Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague;
<br /> Nays (0) - None.
<br />2. Council Member Roop moved to reappoint Jeff Joyce,
<br /> of 91 Hill Street, Fieldale, to a two-year administration
<br /> term on the Clean Community Commission of
<br /> Martinsville-Henry County, expiring February 28,
<br /> 2002, and Molly W. Morrison, of 721 Jefferson Street,
<br /> to a two-year citizen term on the Clean Community
<br /> Commission of Martinsville-Henry County, expiring
<br /> February 28, 2002; the motion was duly seconded
<br /> and carried by the following vote, with all members
<br /> voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas,
<br /> Haskell, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None.
<br />3. Vice Mayor Teague moved to reappoint David
<br /> Ashwall, of 1803 Sam Lions Trail, to a three-year term
<br /> on the Dan River Alcohol Safety Action Program
<br /> Policy Board, expiring April 12, 2003; the motion was
<br /> duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with
<br /> all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree,
<br /> Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None.
<br />4. No action taken.

<br />Council Member Roop moved to adopt the following
<br />Resolution; the motion was duly seconded and carried by
<br />the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas

<br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville,
<br />Virginia, in regular session held on March 14, 2000, that Robert J.
<br />Burr, Attorney at Law, Sands, Anderson, Marks & Miller, Richmond,
<br />Virginia 23218 or any member or associate of his firm acting at his
<br />direction be, and they hereby are, authorized and directed, either
<br />prospectively or retrospectively, to initiate and file any and all
<br />
