My opinion is that they'll take the
information and present raw data to the DEQ, but I'm not sure if the Corps or DEQ will
do ranking." Council Member Haskell asked, "By Session [General Assembly] in
January, do you expect ranking order?" Mr. Joyce replied, "Yes, officially or not." City
Manager Reynolds stated, "A lot of what the Corps is asking for, the DEQ already has."
Council Member Haskell added, "It would be prudent to collect additional data." Congress will be looking at a similar

issue, interstate transport of trash."
is concerned about the barge ban."

Council Member Haskell added, "Northern Virginia
Mayor Crabtree asked, "Economically speaking,

how are private landfills fairing?" Mr. Joyce replied, "The large, regional facilities, both
private and public, are doing okay." Council Member Haskell asked, "Are waste
companies lobbying to close unlined landfills?" Mr. Joyce replied, "They'd like to see

closure;but 'they"re ,not 'the biggest lobbyist."

the biggest lobbyist?"
