Mr. Tobin responded, "No." Council Member Dallas moved to <br />approve the Piedmont Community Services FY 1999-2000 Performance Contract; the <br />motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all present members <br />voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Crabtree, Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - <br />None; Absent (0) - None. Mr. Tobin added, "Construction of our new facility is coming <br />along. It's behind schedule due to a delay in the brick. Our projected date of <br />completion is March 2000. Future plans may include adding either living space or <br />additional office space." <br /> <br /> Council considered authorizing the submission of a grant application for $85,000 <br />to the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services Rescue Assistance Fund for a <br />First Response Vehicle to be used by the Fire Department. Earl B. Reynolds, Jr., City <br />Manager, stated that full funding of this .vehicle was in the budget, but that potential <br />grant money had been found. Jerry Brock, Fire Department Chief, stated, "We've <br />outgrown the 1996 Chevrolet pick-up truck. The original quote was $65,000, but the <br />actual cost will be closer to $85,000. Council Member Dallas asked, "Will we still keep <br />the current truck?" Chief Brock responded, "Yes." Council Member Haskell asked, "If <br />the total cost is $85,000, what is our responsibility?" Mr. Reynolds replied, "There is no <br /> <br /> <br />
