TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 1999 <br />more than $1 million dollars less than expected for theyear. In addition, Mr. Bartlett stated that there was <br /> <br />a $300,000 lower decrease in overall fund balances than at the same time in the previous year. Mr. <br />Bartlett dosed by stating that overall budget goals were being met or exceeded. Vice Mayor Teague <br />thanked him for a very positive report, as did Council Member Dallas. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Teague took a moment to mention that City Attorney David Worthy was absent due <br />to illness. <br /> <br /> Council next considered their Consent Agenda. <br />vote, all members voting: <br />Vote: 4-0 <br /> <br />Yeas: (4) Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague. <br /> <br />Nays: (0) None. <br /> <br />The below items were approved by the following <br /> <br />Council set a public hearing on a request from Virginia Mirror Company, Inc., to <br />abandon that portion of South Moss Street which lies immediately between the <br />property owned by the applicant and the property now owned by Norfolk & <br />Western Railway. This property lies immediately SW of the existing crossing <br />over the N&W right-of-way. The public hearing was set for Councfi's regular <br />meeting on March 9, 1998. <br /> <br />Accepted and appropriated $4,884.75 received from State Forfeited Assets into <br />Revenue 01-000500-2404000---Police Confiscated Assets/State, and appropriated <br />same to Expenditure 01-310100-5415007 State Asset Forfeitures in the FY98- <br />99 General Fund Budget for the Police Department. <br /> <br />Accepted and appropriated $2,085 received as donations towards the City's local <br />match for purchase of a new van for the Senior Center through the Southern <br />Area Agency on Aging, into Revenue 01-000500-1899058--Donations/Senior <br />Center, and appropriated same to Expenditure 01-53 1000-7005000--Motor <br />Vehicles/Equipment in the FY98-99 General Fund Budget for Senior Services. <br /> <br />Accepted and appropriated $685.35 received from State Forfeited Assets into <br />Revenue 01-000500-2404020--Commonwealth Attorney Confi scared <br />Assets/State, and appropriated same to Expenditure 01-220100-5415007-- <br /> <br /> <br />
