TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 1999 <br />letter expressing the City's desire to maintain its status as a Redevelopment Area under <br /> <br />the Economic Development Administration. Tom Harned, Assistant to the City Manager <br />for Development, reviewed the items on the Priority Projects list, which included Priority <br />One and Priority Two projects. Projects listed and discussed included Rives Road <br />Industrial Park, Clearview Business Park, the Farmer's Market Project, and the City's <br />Uptown Rail Trail Project. Council Member Itaskell stated that she did not consider the <br />Farmer's Market to be at the same priority level as other Priority One Projects. Council <br />Member Dallas agreed with this statement, saying that more ought to be done to improve <br />the existing Farmer's Market on Fayette Street first. Vice Mayor Teague then confirmed <br />that there was no commitment of £unding by Council's action at this time, and that <br />priorities on the list could be changed later as needed. Council then approved the City's <br />Overall Economic Development Program Priority Projects list for 1999-2000 as a part of the <br />West Piedmont Planning District Commission's 1999 Regional OEDP, and authorized the <br />City Manager to execute a letter expressing the City's desire to maintain its status as a <br />Redevelopment Area under the Economic Development Administration, by the following vote, <br />all members voting: <br /> <br />Vote: 4-0 <br /> <br />Yeas: (4) Dallas, Haskell, Roop, Teague. <br /> <br />Nays: (0) None. <br /> <br /> A copy of Council's Priority List. is attached and made a copy of this official record. <br /> <br /> Council next considered a Financial Report from the City' s Finance Director, Wade Bartlett. Mr. <br />Bartlett cited such positive items as revenues ahead of projections by $739,000, greater business sector <br />activity, an increase in Local Sales and Use Tax receipts, and the fact that Expenditures were running <br /> <br /> <br />
