<88 <br /> <br />.TUESDAY, MARCH 28, 1989 <br /> <br />Pursuant to the conditions set forth in subsections A. 1 and A. 3 of Section <br />2.1-344 of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended), and upon motion, duly <br />seconded and unanimously carried by a recorded vote, Council convened into an <br />Executive Session for the purposes of considering (1) nominees for 'appointment <br />to the Planning ICommission for the unexpired term of Mr. Joseph W. Pritchett, <br />resigned, (2) the possible sale of City-owned real property abutting Market <br />Street, and (3) the possible acquisition by the City of certain real property. <br />At the conclusion of this Executive Session, Council reconvened into regular <br />session and (1) continued to its next regular meeting.consideration of nominees <br />to replace Mr. Pritchett on the Planning Commission, (2) unanimously accepted <br />the bid of Mr. H. L. Mitchell in the sum of $31,900.00 for residual parcels <br />(from the Market Street construction project) Noso 027, 028, 029, and 030 <br />situated along and off the south side of Market Street and west side of Bridge <br />Street, (3) instructed City Manager Brown to readvertise for bids'on Market <br />Street residual parcels Nos. 037, 038, and 039, and (4) took no action <br />regarding the possible acquisition of certain realproperty. <br /> <br />In tentative acceptance of a Planning Commission report and recommendation, <br />Council called for a duly-advertised public hearing to be conducted by Council <br />.at its forthcoming April llth meeting on an application filed by Ruddco, Inc., <br />of Charlotte, North Carolina, for a Special Use-Permit which, if granted, would <br />conditionally allow applicant to construct more than one building on a single <br />parcel of land situated on the north side of Brookdale Street, near its <br />intersection with Spruce Street, for occupancy by Harris-Teeter and other <br />commercial enterprises. <br /> <br /> <br />
