210 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, APRIL 12, 1988 <br /> <br />Council unanimously accepted the Planning Commission's recommendation that the <br />permit be issued with variances approved by the Commission as to setback <br />requirements and as to off-street parking standards. <br /> <br />Also, in accordance with duly-published public notice,-Council conducted a <br />public hearing on Ms. Jean P. Wilson's petition seeking a rezoning, from C-3 <br />Commercial to R-6 Residential, of her properties identified as Lots Nos. 10, <br />11, 13, 14, and 18 situated on the south side of Burl Street and east of <br />Fayette Street. There being no objections registered against the petition, <br />Council unanimously accepted.the Planning Commission's recommendation that <br />these properties be so rezoned and, in so doing, unanimously adopted the <br />following ordinance which amends the City's Zoning Map accordingly: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this twelfth day of <br />April, 198'8, that the Zoning Map of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, be--and is hereby--amended to the extent that Lots <br />Nos. 10, 11, 13, 14, and 18 situated on the south side of Burl <br />Street (and the east side of Fayette Street) are hereby rezoned <br />from C-3 Commercial to R-6 Residential. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council that, an'emergency <br />existing, this ordinance shall be in force on and after April <br />13, 1988. <br /> <br />Too, in accordance with duly-published public notice, Council conducted a <br />public hearing on Martinsville Bulletin's petition seeking the vacating and <br />abandonment of certain unused-excess right-of-way situated on the south side of <br />Market Street, east of College Street and in front of property at 10 East <br />Market Street. Representing petitioner was Mr. William F. Stone, Jr., Attorney <br />at Law. There being no objections registered against the petition, Council <br />unanimously adopted the following ordinance authorizing the abandoning of said <br />right-of-way, subject to compliance by petitioner with the conditions set forth <br /> <br /> <br />
