While commending the company on its revised billing <br />system effected as of January 1, 1988, Council pointed to .the interminable <br />periods of time elapsing before the company's personnel answer telephones or <br />wait on in-house customers', plus the personnel's apparent lack of concern, all <br />of which makes for poor customer relations. Mr. Woolf stated that he is aware <br />of some of these problems and that, as to the new rate increase, increased cost <br />of materials and satellite program changes play an important part; whereas, for <br />the telephone complaints, the company is in the process of obtaining bids for a <br />much improved telephone system to be installed in the near future. Also <br />registering complaints were Mr. William B. Seagraves, Mrs. Virginia Dameron, and <br />an unidentified person, all local citizens. In concluding its discussion of <br />this matter, Council asked Mr. Woolf to relay the foregoing concerns to his <br />company's officials and, in addition, indicated that the Council might express <br />its concerns directly with said officials. <br /> <br />City Manager Brown announced the appointment of Mr. Walter Lewis Reeves, a <br />member of the Ctty's Fire Department since 1968, as Fire Chief effective March <br />1, 1988, to succeed Fire Chief John Lloyd Gregory, who will be retiring in <br />March. <br /> <br />At the request of Mrs. Connie C. Gendron, Chairperson of the local ANCHOR <br />Commission, represented at this meeting by Mr. Curtis Nolan, Administrator of <br />the local ANCHOR Group Home System, Council unanimously adopted the following <br />resolution providing (along with similar action by the Henry County Board of <br /> <br /> <br />
