TUESDAY, JANUARY 12, 1988 <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, in regular session held on January 12, 1988, that the <br />City Attorney be, and he hereby is, authorized and directed to <br />apply to the Department of Justice for approval of the following <br />voting changes in which the General Registrar of Voters will <br />register voters at the following times and locations: <br /> <br />Thursday, January 14, 1988 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM <br />Martinsville High School <br />Commonwealth Boulevard <br />(In case of snow, date will be January 21, 1988) <br /> <br />Saturday, February 6, 1988 <br />Registrar's Office <br />City Hall <br />55 West Church Street <br /> <br />9:00 ~{ - 5:00 PM <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of City Manager Brown, Council unanimously authorized Mr. <br />Brown to execute (on behalf of the City) a contract with Henry Home Builders, <br />Inc., developer, whereby a forty-foot (in width) street, known as Stephens <br />Street (off Askin Street, and dedicated years ago before enactment of the City's <br />Subdivision Ordinance), might be extended and developed under terms and <br />conditions of the City's Water-Sewer Extension Ordinance, rather than under the <br />requirements of the City's Subdivision Ordinance, on which street Henry Home <br />Builders (represented at this meeting by Mr. Mike Lester) proposes to build a <br />number of single-family dwellings of three and four bedrooms each and of varying <br />designs, the first phase of two-to-three phases planned to consist of nineteen <br />houses. <br /> <br />Council also unanimously authorized City Manager Brown to execute an agreement, <br />on behalf of the City, with Dorn-Will Corporation, which agreement provides for <br />the extending of a street off the south side of East Church Street (U.S. Route <br />58), near the City's east corporate limits, and provides for the improvements <br /> <br /> <br />
