494 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, OCTOBER 23, 1990 <br /> <br />Mayor McClain, noting an article entitled "E.P.A. Urges Reversal of <br />Asbestos Policy" in the October 8, 1990 issue of Insight magazine <br />which had been provided to Council, asked that the School System <br />prepare a report on their asbestos removal program for the November <br />20, 1990 joint meeting of City Council and the School Board. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged an update report on the contract for;long <br />distance telephone service for inmates at the City Jail and Prison <br />Farm in which it was noted that an addendum had been made to the <br />City's contract with Robert Cefail & Associates in which Robert <br /> , <br />Cefail & -Associates had agreed 't0 charge rates that closely <br /> <br />approximate or match the rates charged by the City of <br />Martinsvil'le's Local Exchange Carrier and AT&T for collect calls. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a status report on the Annual City Audit for <br />the year ending June 30, 1990. Mr. Brown noted that the matter <br />would be on Council's Agenda for the November 13, 1990 meeting. <br />Councilman Oakes requested that 'the Constitutional Officers <br />involved in the Audit be asked to attend that meeting. <br /> <br />In response to an inquiry by Councilman Adams, Public Works <br />Director Leon Towarnicki stated that the City had placed Ms. <br />Christine Bennett on notice to remove refrigerators from her <br />property on Starling Avenue. <br /> <br />In response to a question by CounCilman Oakes, Mr. Brown stated <br /> <br /> <br />
