The City's basic <br /> rate is 10.18% (plus a 5% employee contribution). Mayor Oakes said <br /> that this matter should be addressed with the' local legislators, <br /> as the State=is not funding the Constitutional Offices properly. <br /> Councilman!.McClain,'-~referring to the net local costs worksheet, <br /> asked Mr~ Fitts! how'the Sheriff's Office could have been <br /> appropriated $103,086 in local funds and yet be projected to spend <br /> $148,181. Mr. Fitts replied that' the City Manager has the <br /> authority to transfer funds within a department's budget and that <br /> the.Sheriff'sOffice will not exceed its totalbudget for the 1989- <br /> 90.Fiscal Year.
