MAY=:22. 1990 <br /> <br />,="';:'~=""~S~ate MandatesAct'~"be placed.on the agenda for the'June~!26, 1990 <br /> =']meeting.' <br /> <br />Mayor Oakes 'reported that he had attended the' D.A,R.E'./ program <br /> <br />graduation at Albert Harris School and commended the City's Police <br /> <br />Department for their participation in the program. <br /> <br />Mayor Oakes also reported that he had received two letters from <br />citizens commending the Electric Department and Police Department. <br /> <br />Mayor Oakes asked that the joint meeting between Council and the <br />Henry County Board of Supervisors for purposes of hearing a <br />presentation on the emergency medical services study be rescheduled <br />from June 12, 1990 due to the absence of Councilman McClain and <br />Vice-Mayor Williams from that meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Oakes appointed Councilman McClain to the Multi-Purpose <br />Building Study Committee in replacement of Councilman Cole. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344(A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA <br />(1950, and as amended), and upon motion, duly seconded and carried <br />by unanimous recorded vote, Council convened into Executive Session <br />for the purpose of discussing a contractual matter, as authorized <br />by Subsection 3 of Section 2.1-344(A).
