TUESDAY. APRIL 24. 1990 <br /> <br />City's proposal to install 18additional.bedshas been approved and <br />that.the State will reimburse the City for 50%'of the cost if the <br /> <br />project is.completed by May 15, 1990, Councilman McClain and Mayor <br /> <br />Oakes commended the City Administration for .their quick action to <br /> <br />make the improvements, <br /> <br />Council delayed for two weeks consideration of the placement of a <br />"Budweiser" trailer on City property for the collectionof aluminum <br />cans by the W,C, Ham Learning Center so that the City Manager could <br />have more time to find out if company. officials would be willing <br />to supply an unmarked trailer, Mr, Brown said that the City had <br />allowed the trailer.~to be placed at that locationat the request <br />of the Ham Learning Center because the Center did not have <br />sufficient property upon which to locate it,=.Mr, Brown stated that <br />he-had contacted company officials andfoundlout that there is an <br />advertising arrangement regarding the parking of the trailer, Mr, <br />Brown statedlthat he had asked the .company if they could~supply a <br />trailer that didnoadvertising and that they.implied that they had <br />such a trailer, but that the arrangement which the company had with <br />Danville Bottling Company involved compensation for advertising. <br />Ms. Gail Mitchell, Executive Director of the Ham Center, appeared <br />to explain the recycling operation and stated that if the City <br />.decides.not to allow the trailer to be placed on its property, the <br />Centerwill.be forced to shut down its recycling operation which <br />would result in three handicapped individuals being placed out of <br /> <br /> <br />
