Mayor Oakes expressed his appreciation for the work which <br /> <br />had been done by the two groups and asked Mr. Brown to review the <br /> <br />recommendations contained in Ms. Henderson's letter to Council and <br />to make a report to Council after his review. · :' <br /> <br />-Council heard areport from the Ji Ronnie Minter/Commissioner of <br />the Revehue regarding the Real Estate Tax Relief Program for the <br />Elderky and Totally' and Permanently Disabled from ~=1982-1990. <br /> <br />:'vCouncil'acknowledged a report by the City Treasurer onthe'City's <br /> <br />investment of funds for the quarter ending March 31, 1990;~' <br /> <br />CoUncil acknowledged a status report on the widening of a section <br /> <br />of U.S. Route 220 in North Carolina. Mr. Brown noted that there <br />will be a public meeting held at Mayodan on Tuesday,-May 15, 1990 <br /> <br /> and that he planned to attend. .~- <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved <br />certain improvements~to'the City Jail which would providelfor 18 <br />additional beds. Mr. 'Brown stated that the-City-'had received <br />notification from the=State Department of Corrections:that .the <br /> <br /> <br />
