318 <br /> <br />TUESDAY,'APRIL 10, 1990 <br /> <br />~Council granted" tentative approval ofthebudget request of'the Economic <br />Development Corporation in the Mount of $50,000. Mr. Joe Gero was pre- <br />sent to represent the Corporation and gave an overview of the Corpora- <br />'tion's activities. The Mayor requested that Mr. Gero appear on the Coun- <br />cil agenda quarterly, if possible, to give a report'on current activi- <br />ties. Councilman McClain noted that, under the Virginia Freedom of Infor- <br />mation Act, specific economic development projects <br /> <br /> Executive Session. <br /> <br />CoUncil granted tentative approval to~the budget request of'the Piedmont <br />Arts Association in the amount of $5,000.' Mr. Tom Perryman was present to <br />make the request. Councilman Groden stated that he had spoken with a <br />youhg couple'' who were considering moving to the community and that <br />PiedmontArtsAssociation was the major factor influencing their move~ <br /> <br />Council granted tentative approval to the budget request of the Blue Ridge <br />Regional Library in- the amount of $246,559. Mr. George Coleman was pre- <br /> <br /> Sen~ tO make the request.
