There 'being no objections registered by any person, the <br /> -public hearing was declared closed; whereupon motion, duly seconded, and <br /> unanimously carried Council adopted the Planning Commission's recommenda- <br /> tion to approve the request. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unm~imous vote, Council recommended that <br />the West Piedmont Planning District Commission'make a favorable comment on <br />the Virginia-Department of Transportation,s Highway Planning and Research <br />Work Programsfor FY1991: City Manager Brown noted that $20,000 is includ- <br />ed in the program to be applied to the update of the Martinsville <br />Thoroughfare Plan. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded, and by unanimous vote, CounCil accepted a rec- <br />ommendation by the Commercial Development Commission that no changes be <br />made to the current ordinance regulating .parking in the Central Business <br />District (changes in parking regulations had earlier been Proposed in Or- <br />dinance No. 90-4). <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded m~d by unanimous vote Council awarded a con- <br />tract to Ford, Hogg & Cobbe to perform financial and compliance audits for <br />the City for fiscal Fears ended June 30, 1990 through June 30 1992 <br />City Manager Brown noted that he had provided Council with the additional <br />information requested by Council at its last regular meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
