Leon Towarnicki, Director of Public
Works, noted they would get to it in a few weeks, after installa-
tion of the light at Market Street mid Commonwealth Boulevard.-

Councilmm~ McClain inquired about a center turn laneon Market
Street at Bridge Street. Leon Towarnicki stated they would be
· drawing up plans to see if it was feasible

C. Councilman McClain inquired about various violations of the City
Code related to junk cars, debris, etc. City Manager Brown stated
that the responsibility for enforcement of the Code related to
these matters has been assigned to one individual so we can keep
.~ up;with repeat offenders and deal with them appropriately. ~.

Councilman Cole inquired as to some demolition and .clearing of
lots at the corner of Parkview and Spruce Street. It was noted
that this work was done by Lanier Farms to improve their property
to make it more marketable.

In accordance with Section 2.1-344(A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as

amended), m~d upon motion, duly seconded and carried by a unanimous recorded

vote', Council convened into an Executive Session for the purpose of considering
(A) an appointment to the Martinsville Transportation Safety Commission, as
authorized by Subsection 1; (B) an appointment to the Piedmont Emergency Medi-
cal Services Council, as authorized by Subsection 1; and (C) a personnel matter
