DEFINITIONS. <br /> (a) Whenever the word "grantee" appears in this Ordinance it <br />is intended to designate and shall' be hel.d t~o mean the Southwestern <br />Virginia Gas Company, its successors and assigns. <br /> <br /> (b) Whenever the-word "cit. y" appears in this Ordinance it is <br />intended to designate and shall be'held to mean the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia. <br /> <br /> (c) Whenever the words "naturalgas" appear in this Ordinance <br />they are intended to d.esignat~ and shall be held to mean natural gas of <br />the quality and character produced by nature in the natural gas fields of <br />Texas, Louisiana, or elsewhere, or as such term shall be used from time to <br />time by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and/or a mixture of <br />propane gas and air having an equivalent heating value and pressure to <br />natural gas. <br /> <br /> (d) Whenever the word "street" lappears in this Ordinance it <br />is intended and shall be held:to mean' streets, rights of way, alleys, <br />avenues, highways,.or any other public place in t-he city. <br /> <br /> (e) Whenever the word "service"appears in this Ordinance it <br />is intended and shall be held to have the meaning given said term in <br />Section 56-233 of the Virginia Code of 1950, or in any amendments thereto. <br /> <br /> <br />
