Towarnicki reporting on the status of a new traffic <br />signal to be installed at the intersection of Commonwealth <br />Boulevard and Market Street; <br /> <br />B. Councilman Cole's inquiry as to the cancellation of the <br /> scheduled Booker Road sidewalk project (see Council minutes of <br /> September 12th meeting), with Public Works Director Towarnicki <br /> explaining reason for the cancellation (viz., lack of donated <br /> right-of-way); <br /> <br />Councilman Cole's request that a representative of Adelphia <br />Cable Communications appear at Council's forthcoming October <br />lOth meeting to explain a financial report just received from <br />Adelphia~ and <br /> <br />Mayor Oakes' announcement/comments regarding (1) a recent <br />meeting of the Downtown Business Association and the <br />Commercial Development Commission, (2) the recent downtown <br />march by a group of gifted/talented students (in the "Beyond" <br />program) from Patrick Henry Elementary School, accenting <br />President Bush's recently-announced anti-drug program, (3) the <br />forthcoming VML Conference, and (4) a special meeting of <br />Council scheduled for October llth to formulate position with <br />regard to proposed Virginia General Assembly legislation <br />affecting annexation by Virginia cities and affecting the <br />status of Virginia cities. <br /> <br />Mayor Oakes then declared this meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />W.
