TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 1989 <br /> <br />which permits Southwestern Virginia Gas Company to continue its operations <br />within the City of Martinsville for a period of thirty (30) years from July 1, <br />1989, pursuant to the terms set forth in said franchise ordinance, as recorded <br />in these minutes as an addendum thereto. <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of Mr. J. Randolph Smith, Jr. Commonwealth's Attorney for <br />the City of Martinsville, Council adopted the following ordinance under <br />emergency conditions and effective October 1, 1989, which amends Chapter 12 <br />(Motor Vehicles & Traffic) of the City Code, to parallel or reflect recent <br />recodifications in the Virginia State.Code: <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> Virginia, in regular session assembled September 26, 1989, that <br /> Chapter 12, Motor Vehicles and Traffic, of the City Code be and is <br /> hereby amended as a result of the Code of Virginia having been <br /> recodified, as follows: <br /> <br /> Chapter 12 <br /> MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC <br /> <br /> Article I.
