TUESDAY~ JULY 25, 1989 <br /> <br />ANCHOR Commission for the unexpired term of Dr. Larry Kellogg, resigned, and <br /> <br />(2) a real estate matter involving the possibility of acquiring a certain tract <br />of land. At the conclusion of this Executive Session, Council reconvened into <br />its regular session where it took no action on the real estate. matter but <br />unanimously appointed Mr. S. Harold Lamm, Superintendent of the City School <br />System, to membership on the ANCHOR Commission for Dr. Kellogg"s unexpired term <br />which will end December 31, 1990, In so doing, each member of Council, on roll <br />call, certified that, to the best of his knowledge, (1) only public business <br />matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by Virginia law were <br />discussed in said Executive Session and (b) only such public business matters <br />as were identified in the motion convening the Executive Session were heard, <br />discussed, or considered by the Council during that session. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council adopted the <br />following ordinance, with emergency clause attached, which corrects an <br />ordinance adopted by Council under date of October 13, 1970, whereby an error <br />was made in describing properties owned by--and rezoned at that time for-- <br />Nationwide Homes, Incorporated: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the CounCil of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled this twenty-fifthday of July, 1989, <br />that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map of the City of <br />Martinsville be--and are hereby--amended to reclassify to '~-3 <br />Industrial" a portion of property owned by Nationwide Homes, Inc., <br />and situated along Rugg Creek between the Norfolk and Western <br />Railway and Forest Street as shown on a map of said property <br />recorded in Map Book 11, Page 236, Martinsville Circuit Court <br />Clerk's Office, excluding Lots Nos. 55 through 59 and a part of Lots <br />Nos. 60 through 78 as shown on Sections 60 and 61 of the Property <br />Tax Map of the City of Martinsville, with the following exceptions <br />and subject to the following conditions: <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />Lots Nos. 55 through 59 shall remain as presently <br />residentially zoned for a depth of one hundred <br />and thirty (130) feet from their Forest Street <br />property lines; <br /> <br /> <br />
