Farrar, 1014 Oakwood Court. <br /> <br />Council continued its consideration of these candidates/applicants to Council's· <br /> <br />forthcoming regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 27, 1989. <br /> <br />Upon being informed by City Manager Brown that a proposed application for <br />Community Development Block Grant funding, to finance the cost of constructing <br />an access road and certain utility facilities to the nursing home project under. <br />construction for and.by Dorn-Will CorporatiOn off Route 58 East, will be ruled <br />ineligible by the Virginia Housing & Community Development agency within the <br />scope of "indust·rial'' development for the same reasons a prior application for <br />Industrial Access funds for the same project was rejected by the Virginia · <br />Department of Transportation, Council unanimously cancelled the duly-advertised <br />publi.c hearing scheduled on said proposed application for the meeting hereby <br />covered by these minutes and, also, Council cancelled the second of two <br />required public hearings on this matter scheduled for Council's forthcoming <br /> <br />June 27th meeting. <br /> <br />Council unanimously accepted for introduction--and placed on first reading--an <br />ordinance (identified as Ordinance 89-5) to amend Section 12-140 of the City <br />Code in order that said section will parallel updated motor vehicle statutes of <br />the State of Virginia, effective July 1, 1989. Council scheduled final action <br />on this amendment for its forthcoming June 27th regular meeting. <br /> <br />After reviewing City Manager Brown's written response to courtroom security <br />recommendations presented to Council at-its May 23rd meeting by Assistant <br />Commonwealth's Attorney Melinda Carter Penn and after receiving additional <br /> <br /> <br />
