TUESDAY. NOVEMBER 26. 1991 <br />requested that the City Manager prepare such an ordinance for consideration. <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 91-18 'reads as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 24-6. Possession of Loaded Firearm by Juvenile. <br /> <br /> (a) 'It shall be unlawful for any person under the age of <br />eighteen to Carry or have in his or her possession in this city <br />while in any public place or upon any public street a loaded <br />firearm.. <br /> <br /> (b) This section shall not apply to a person (i) in his own <br />home or curtilage thereof, (ii) acting at the time in lawful <br /> defense of persons or property, (iii) engaged in lawful hunting, <br /> nor (iv) engaged in marksmanship practice at established ranges. <br /> <br /> (c) Violation of this section shall be punishable by a fine <br />of not more than one hundred dollars (8100.00) and, in addition, <br />the weapon may be forfeited to the Commonwealth of Virginia <br />pursuant to the provisions of Section 18.2-310 of the Code of <br />Virginia. <br /> <br />State Law Reference-- CODE OF VIRGINIA Section 18.2-287.3 <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved an <br />amendment to the FY91-92 Housing Services Fund budget to reflect the deletion <br /> <br />of the Church/Moss Street Rehabilitation Project and the expenditure of the <br /> <br />entire grant amount for the Smith Lake Road Housing Project. The net effect <br />of the amendment was to reduce both revenues and expenditures by $349,911. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous Vote, Council canceled its second <br />regularly scheduled meeting for December since it falls on Christmas Eve. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council scheduled two <br />public hearings for December 10, 1991, to consider a proposed new Subdivision <br />Ordinance and a proposed new Zoning Ordinance for the City. <br /> <br />Council accepted a report by Acting City Manager Heater regarding a request <br />for installation of some sort of barrier between the sidewalk and the street <br />at the intersection of Starling Avenue and Forest Street to make it ~afer for <br /> <br /> <br />
