TUESDAY. NOVEMBER 26. 1991 requested that the City Manager prepare such an ordinance for consideration. Ordinance No. 91-18 'reads as follows: Sec. 24-6. Possession of Loaded Firearm by Juvenile. (a) 'It shall be unlawful for any person under the age of eighteen to Carry or have in his or her possession in this city while in any public place or upon any public street a loaded firearm.. (b) This section shall not apply to a person (i) in his own home or curtilage thereof, (ii) acting at the time in lawful defense of persons or property, (iii) engaged in lawful hunting, nor (iv) engaged in marksmanship practice at established ranges. (c) Violation of this section shall be punishable by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars (8100.00) and, in addition, the weapon may be forfeited to the Commonwealth of Virginia pursuant to the provisions of Section 18.2-310 of the Code of Virginia. State Law Reference-- CODE OF VIRGINIA Section 18.2-287.3 Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved an amendment to the FY91-92 Housing Services Fund budget to reflect the deletion of the Church/Moss Street Rehabilitation Project and the expenditure of the entire grant amount for the Smith Lake Road Housing Project. The net effect of the amendment was to reduce both revenues and expenditures by $349,911.
