Upon motion, duly seconded, and a vote of <br />four ayes and one nay (Councilman Willjams), Council approved on first <br />reading Ordinance No. 91-19, including the previously approved amendment to <br />Section 8.01. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council adopted, on second <br />reading, Ordinance No. 91-16 on a request by the Piedmont Arts Association <br />for an amendment to Section IX--Off-Street Parking and Loading Space, <br />Paragraph B~-Specifications of the Zoning Ordinance, as follows: <br /> <br /> Off-street parking space shall be provided and permanently <br /> maintained by the owners or occupants of the following types of <br /> property uses on the basis indicated: <br /> <br /> 17. Museums and Art Galleries: One (1) space for each threw <br /> hundred (300) square feet of gross floor area. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council adopted, on second <br />reading, Ordinance No. 91-17 amending the City Code, Chapter 21--Taxation, <br />Article I-7~n' General, Section 21-7--Real Estate Tax Exemption, Subsection <br />(b)(3), related to Permanently and Totally Disabled Persons. It was noted <br />that this amendment would parallel State law. The full text of this <br />Ordinance is on file in the office of the Clerk of Council. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council adopted, on second <br />reading, Ordinance No. 91-18 amending the City Code by adding Section 24-6-- <br />Possession of Loaded Firearm by Juvenile to Chapter 24--Weapons. Councilman <br />Adams questioned whether Section 24-2--Discharging Firearms--Generally~ <br />should be amended to add "forfeiture of the weapon" as apart of the penalty <br />to coincide with Section 24-6. Acting City Manager Heater stated that he had <br />discussed this with Commonwealth Attorney Randy Smith, who said that it could <br />be done but it would require the adoption of a separate ordinance.
