He invited the Council to come out and take a look at the East end <br /> <br />of the City. <br /> <br />Donald Kirby, 1178 Banner Street (last house), noted that, at his request, <br />the City had put up a sign, but they put it in the wrong place and have not <br />come.back to move it even though he had asked them. He stated that the. sign <br />causes people to gather. He expressed concern about a drainage problem that <br />was washing out his lot. He also stated that the children need a gym or some' <br />place to go to keep them off the streets. <br /> <br />O. L. Dawson, 1111 Banner Street, noted the need for curb/gutter on Banner <br />Street and that he was willing to cooperate with the City to get something <br />done. <br /> <br />Wayne Prunty, Rivermont Apartments #83, stated there was a need for a <br />sidewalk on-Fayette Street from Pine Hall Road to the Rivermont Apartments <br />because it is dangerous to walk along the side of the street. He further <br />noted~that there was a need for transportation to YMCA, etc. <br /> <br />Bruce Dallas, 211 Massey Street, noted that after reading in the newspaper <br />about-the proposed landfill and the City School's participation in the~suit <br />against the State for Disparity in Education that he had concerns about how <br />the City would pay for these items. He stated that the people cannot afford <br />increases in taxes or garbage collection fees, although he felt the teachers <br />should receive more money. He noted that it was his observation that when it <br />rains, the City crews do not work. He expressed concern that he had seen <br />City workers at English Field putting up a gate, noting that the operation of <br />English. Field is a business, and if the City is going to assist them why <br /> <br /> <br />
