TUES'DAY, JULY 9, 1991 <br /> <br />;.matter. Mayor McClain asked Mr. Brown to attempt to make such notification. <br /> <br /> -.; <br /> <br /> Council considered adoption of a Resolution amending the Resolution adopted <br /> June 11, 1991, regarding the Virginia Public School Authority (VPSA) bond <br /> issue. Mr. Brown and Mr. Harold Lamm, Superintendent of Schools, explained <br /> that this Resolution was!beingpresented in response to changes requested by <br /> the VPSA's bond counsel and that the major change was that the total amount <br /> of bonds issued would be $438,631, with the difference between this amount <br /> and the $585,000 which was originally requested being made up by a direct <br /> grant from the State Literary Fund. Upon motion, duly seconded and by <br /> unanimous vote, Council adopted this Resolution, which is attached to these <br /> minutes as Appendix A. <br /> <br />for bunking <br /> Mr. Brown <br /> <br />-Council considered approval of a Request for Proposals (RFP) <br /> <br />~.services pertaining to the City's "Insurance Trust Fund". <br />explained that these services have been provided by the same bank for more <br />than three years and that he felt all banks should be given an opportunity to <br />bid on these services at this time. In response to a question by Vice-:Mayor <br />Groden,.Mr. Brown said that the RFP would be sent to the 5 local banks and <br />that the City was not required to supply the RFP to any banks outsideof the <br />City. Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved the <br />RFP. <br /> <br />Councilman Oakes asked Mr. Brown to set up an insurance committee meeting in <br />'late July or early August. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt of the Regional Overall Economic Develo:pment <br />Plan by the West Piedmont Planning District Commission. Ms. Joan Hullett, of <br />the WPPDC was present to present the plan and to comment on its development. <br /> <br /> <br />
