Shackleford, Sr., 405 Third Street; Dennis L. Wilson, 1204 Ranson
Road; Dr. James Peyton Moore, Jr., 704 Windsor Lane; Diane L. Ennis, 1216
Knollwood Place; and Rebecca P. Farrar, 1014 Oakwood Court. All of these
individuals reviewed their qualifications (which were outlined in written
forms and presented to Council in their agenda packet) and discussed their
reasons for seeking appointment to the School Board. Rev. William
Shackleford stated that he supported the appointment of Joseph Finley and
Agnes Mobile Scott Hairston to the Board, but he would accept appointment if
Council should choose him.

.Rev. William Barber, 413 Fayette Street, spoke on behalf of the appointment
of "two Afro-Americans" to the School Board, citing the need for "diversity"
on the Board.

In addition to the individuals who appeared to speak on behalf of themselves
at the public hearing and those who were supported by other individuals
speaking at the hearing, the following individuals (some of whom were
present, some of whom were not present) were also considered for appointment:
Dr. June (Beth) J. Baptist, 711 Beechnut Lane; James H. Johnson, Jr., 217
Arrowhead Trail; Don Kerr, 901 Clarke Road; Stephen Reed Smith, 1506 Mulberry
Road, Apt. 40; and J.
