MAY 28, 1991 <br /> <br /> Real Estate <br /> Personal Property <br /> Machinery and Tools <br /> <br />$0.76 <br />$2.25 <br />$1.85 <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council that this ordinance shall be in force <br /> on and after July 1, 1991. <br /> <br />Inresponse. to a question by Councilman Oakes, Mr. Brown described the <br />administrative procedures related to the permitting of bingo operations <br />within the City. Councilman Oakes requested that Mr. Brown provide a report <br />on this matter within the next two months. <br /> <br />Councilman Oakes reported that he had attended adata processing workday at <br />Martinsville High School and that he had accepted a plaque on behalf of the <br />City. <br /> <br />Councilman Adams reported that he had received a report on the Virginia Main <br />Street Program from staff of the West Piedmont Planning District Commission <br />and that he was encouraged by the report. Mr. Brown said that City staff and <br />WPPDC staff had met with representatives of the Virginia Main-Street Program <br />with regard to the continuing study of downtown. Mr. Brown said that the <br />Administration supported the Main Street Program concept for promoting <br />downtown and hoped to encourage private sector individuals to form an <br />informal group in order to introduce the Main Street Program concept before <br />the matter was brought to the governing body for action. <br /> <br />In response to a question by Councilman Adams, Mr. Brown said that the <br />sidewalks in front of City Hall which are in poor condition would be repaired <br />or replaced in the near future. <br /> <br />In response to a question by Councilman Adams~ Mro Brown said that <br />individuals who may be interested in getting a sidewalk constructed on Rives <br /> <br /> <br />
