~= - TUESDAY, APRIL16, 1991 <br /> revised~recommendation of the CityManager t0 eliminate the 3% cost-of-living <br /> index increase for employees under the City Manager. <br /> <br /> Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council tentatively <br /> approved the City Manager's recommendation that sewer rates be increased <br /> <br /> 12.5% for FY91-92 (from $.80 per thousand gallons to $.90 per thousand <br />.-gallons). <br /> <br />Upon= motion, duly seconded and by unanimous. vote, Council accepted the <br />revised recommendation of the City Manager. to eliminate the $90,000 <br />appropriation for renovation of the City Hall basement which had been <br />designated to provide office space for the Commonwealth's Attorney and the <br />Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Services Unit. It was noted that there <br />exists the possibility that a regional courthouse facility may be constructed <br />with Henry County and that these groups could be housed in such alfacility. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by a vote of 4 "yes" and 1 "abstain" <br />(Councilman Adams), Council eliminated the $5,000 appropriation for the Adult <br />DayCare Center (which was granted tentative approval at the April 11 budget <br />work session).. Councilman Groden stated that it costs the Center $11,000 per <br />client per year to fund its operations and that the Center would be more <br />appropriately funded through private means. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council formally approved' <br />the following budget reductions (which were generally agreed to during the <br />April 9 Council meeting): Circuit Court--S807; General District Court-' <br />$2,500; Juvenile andsDomestic Relations Court--S250; Law Library--S1,000; and <br />Citizens Against Family Violence--S100. <br /> <br /> <br />
