Inresponse to questions by Councilman Adams, Director of Finance <br /> RichardD. Fitts stated that the Treasurer's report, which reflects cash on <br /> <br />· ~hand,-.woUld not match the Finance Director's monthly report showing fund <br /> balances because the Finance Director's report reflects accruals, as required <br /> by the State. <br /> <br /> Council considered a report on the Fiscal Year 1989-90 Annual Audit. Mr. <br /> Robert St.~Lawrence,~ of Ford, Hogg & Cobbe, was present to answer questions <br /> by .Council regarding the audit. In response to questions by members of <br /> Council,.Mr. St. Lawrence and City Treasurer John W. Bouldin, Jr. said that <br /> a statement in the Audit regarding monthly checking accounts not being <br /> regularly reconciled is now being addressed. Mr. Bouldin said the accounts <br /> are now being reconciled on a monthly basis. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a financial report from theDirectorof Finance for the <br /> <br />month ending 10/31/90 which included a report on .sales tax revenues. Mr. <br /> <br />Brown.noted=that sales tax revenues were slightly ($35,484) less than <br /> <br />anticipated, but said that this was not cause. for concern because the major <br />shopping will occur during the holiday season, which will be reflected in the <br /> <br />second and third quarters. <br /> <br />Councilacknowledged a status report of a review of Staterevenue·adjustments <br />in which the City Manager stated that the Schools had still not completed <br />their review and,· therefore, he proposed to delay his report until the <br />Schools have completed their review.
