Allan <br /> <br /> Company, stated <br /> <br /> in the hope that the request <br /> <br />607 Mulberry Road; and <br />McClain, President of <br />that the request for <br /> <br /> for the <br /> <br />Special Use Permit could be withdrawn and that the Gas Company had no <br />objection to a postponement to the October 27, 1992 Council meeting, <br />which would be a night meeting. Councilman Williams made a motion to <br />postpone the public hearing until the October 27, 1992 Council meeting. <br />This motion was seconded by Councilman Oakes. Councilman Draper spoke <br />against the postponement and suggested that Council accept the comments <br />made by citizens as being the public hearing on this request and make <br />a decision on the matter. The motion and second were then withdrawn. <br />Vice-Mayor Adams declared the public hearing open. Councilman Oakes <br />asked that the comments made prior to the public hearing be made a part <br />of the record. There being no further comment, Vice-Mayor Adams <br />declared the public hearing closed. Councilman Williams made a motion <br />to accept the recommendation of the Planning Commission to deny the <br />request for a Special Use Permit. This was seconded by Councilman <br />Draper and carried by a vote of 4 "yes", with Mayor McClain abstaining <br />from the vote. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council approved a <br />supplemental appropriation to the FY 92-93 General Fund budget in the <br />amount of $18,741 for the Commissioner of Revenue to fund the FY 92-93 <br />costs of administering the Meals Tax. <br /> <br />Council considered approval of a supplemental appropriation of $11,132 <br />in the Water Fund to cover unanticipated fees levied by the State to <br />fund enforcement of the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act.
