Barber reviewed his perspective on what <br /> occurred during the three meetingS which. were held by the task force. <br /> <br /> In response to a question by CoUncilman Oakes, City Manager Earl B. <br /> Reynolds, Jr. stated th~'t t~=e P~i~ning Commission would be holding a <br /> special meeting on July 2i to review the first draft of an ordinance to <br /> address the transient s~rage of~hazardous waste. <br /> <br />Councilman Williams said ~at t~he Council was concerned about this <br />problem and that he w~as 1.o~ng for direction from those who are <br />charged with givingadv~e:a~ making recommendations to Council before <br />making any de~i:sie~ e~ ~his~matter. Vice-Mayor Adams stated that his <br />objectfve in the task force was to determine what could legally be done <br />to a.~dress the citizen's concerns. Councilman Oakes stated that the <br />task force was not formed as a stalling tactic and that he was <br />disappointed that the three members had resigned because he believed <br />that the group could have worked to achieve a solution to the problem. <br />Councilman Draper stated that Council was very concerned about this <br />issue and that the Planning Commission would soon be bringing a <br />recommendation regarding a proposed ordinance. <br /> <br />Awards for service on boards and commissions were presented to the <br />following individuals who were present: George C.
