TUESDAY, JUNE 9, 1992 <br /> <br />was being investigated); (4) Councilman Williams asked that a trash can <br />be placed at the corner of Smith Road and Fayette Street; and (5) <br />Councilman Oakes asked that an update report be given on the activities <br />of the Solid Waste Committee. <br /> <br />In accordance with Section 2.1-344(A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, <br />and as amended), and upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, <br />Council convened into Executive Session for the purpose of considering <br />the following: (1) appointments to the Social Services Board, Office <br />on Youth Board, Patrick Henry Community College Board, Piedmont <br />Regional Community Services Board, and a nomination to the Western <br />Virginia Emergency Medical Services Council, as authorized by <br />Subsection 1; (2) a legal matter, as authorized by Subsection 7; and <br />(3) acquisition of real property for public purpose, as authorized by <br />Subsection 3. At the conclusion of this Executive Session, Council <br />reconvened into regular session, wherein, by a recorded vote, each <br />member of Council certified that (1) only public business matters <br />exempted from open meeting requirements were discussed in said <br />Executive Session; and (2) only those business matters identified in <br />the motion convening the Executive Session were heard, discussed or <br />considered during said Session. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council made the <br />following appointments: to the Office on Youth Board for a 3-year term <br />beginning 7/1/92--Cecilia R. Johnson, 1507 White Oak Court; and to the <br />Piedmont Regional Community Services Board for a 3-year term beginning <br />7/1/92--Sylvia Smith, 106 Mulberry Court (a reappointment). Council <br />also nominated James Peverall, Jr., 215 Aaron Street, for appointment <br />to the Western Virginia Emergency Medical Services Council to fill an <br /> <br /> <br />
