Thomas trucking

terminal as a "drop" site for a transportation company which hauls
hazardous waste.

Councilman Oakes stated that he had heard concerns from residents of
the Northside area of the City regarding the expansion of the current
City landfill to be used as a short-term solid waste disposal site for
Martinsville and Henry County. Councilman Oakes stated that the
residents were particularly concerned about the traffic situation at
Liberty Street and Clearview Drive. Mr. Reynolds stated that these
concerns would be taken into consideration in the overall plan for
expansion at that site.

Councilman Oakes asked for a follow-up report on the options available
to the City in response to the Henry County Board of Supervisors'
decision to rezone property adjacent to Mountain Road in the City. Mr.
Reynolds stated that he was examining the issue and would report back
to Council on this matter.

Council tentatively scheduled a Town Meeting for the Druid Hills/Forest
Park area of the City for June 2, 1992 beginning at 7:00 P.M.

Vice-Mayor Groden stated that he had received complaints from citizens
regarding dumping of materials at the recycling bins located at the
Harris Teeter store on Brookdale Road. Mr. Reynolds said the staff
would investigate the situation.

In accordance with Section 2.1-344(A) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950,
and as amended), and upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote,
