~ i TUESDAY, MAY 12, 1992

Oak Street, and several residents of Oak and Graves streets were
present to oppose the street abandonment. After much discussion,
Council continued the public hearing until the May 26th Council meeting
so that Mr. Lester and Mr. Ike Cahill, owner of property abutting the
street space, can prepare a subdivision plat showing the disposition of
the proposed abandoned street space property.

Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council granted
tentative approval to the FY 92-93 Budget which was agreed upon during
the May 7, 1992 Special Meeting and set a public hearing on the budget
for May 26, 1992. Council asked that the record show Council's
commendation to the City Manager and the administrative staff for the
FY 92-93 City Manager's budget proposal.

Upon motion, duly seconded and by a vote of 4 "yes" and 1 "abstain"
(Mayor McClain), Council continued for another year a policy statement
regarding the extension of water/sewer lines into unified housing
developments. Council also approved a minor revision to the policy
referencing the Zoning Ordinance. Prior to discussing this item, Mayor
McClain announced that he would abstain from any discussion or vote,
disclosing that he could be in a position to utilize the policy for
property he intends to develop.

Upon motion, duly seconded and by unanimous vote, Council set a public
hearing on a request by Gregory L. Jackson, on behalf of Ephesus
Seventh Day Adventist Church, for an amendment to Section VIII--Special
Use Procedure of the City's Zoning Ordinance.

Council acknowledged a financial report for the month ending 4/30/92.
