WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15, 1992 <br /> <br />from parents of students enrolled in City Schools. <br /> <br />Ms. Nancy Henderson, 717 Clarke Road, stating that she was a parent and <br />substitute teacher, said that teacher morale was suffering from the <br />absence of a pay increase during FY 91-92 and asked Council to fund the <br />School Board budget. <br /> <br />Mr. Alvin Ratliff, 1114 Mulberry Road, said that education was one of <br />the most important investments that can be made in the future and urged <br />support of the School Board budget. <br /> <br />Ms. Luanne Goebel, 1503 Mulberry Road, read a prepared statement and <br />spoke in favor of the proposed teacher pay raise included in the School <br />Board budget. <br /> <br />Mr. Pete Epperly, 1254 Lanier Road, said that the pay rate for a <br />teacher with 10 years experience in the Martinsville Schools ranked 118 <br />out of 134 school divisions and that the pay rate for a teacher with 20 <br />years experience ranked 104th. <br /> <br />Mr. Len Barrow, 1122 Plantation Road, Henry County, stating that he had <br />two students enrolled in City Schools, spoke in support of the School <br />Board budget. <br /> <br />Mr. Robert Cook, 1222 Lanier Road, asked Council to fully fund the <br />School Board budget, stating that this would be funding the City's <br />future. <br /> <br />There being no other comments from the public, the Mayor asked for <br /> <br /> <br />
