70 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, APRIL 14, 1992 <br /> <br />Martinsville-HenryCounty. Mr. Dwight Christenberry, President ofl.the <br />Center Board of Directors, was present to make the budget request. It <br />was noted that the Center was requesting funding in the amount of <br />$10,000, but the City Manager's budget did not contain funding for this <br />item° <br /> <br />Council considered the budget request of Stepping Stones, Inc. Ms. <br />Pamela Morrison, of Stepping Stones, was present to make a budget <br />request in the amount of $20,000 which would be used to purchase a van <br />and to fund a driver for the van. The City Manager's budget proposal <br />contains no funding for this item. <br /> <br />Council considered a budget request for the Pittsylvania County <br />Community Action Agency in the amount of $30,299. Mr. Sherman <br />Saunders, Executive Director of the Agency, was present to make the <br />request and to explain the services provided to City residents by the <br />Agency's programs. The City Manager's budget proposal contains no <br />funding for this item. <br /> <br />Council considered the budget request for the Martinsville-Henry County <br />Rescue Squad Association in the amount of $15,000. Mr. Stuart Bowman, <br />of the Association, was present to explain that the request was <br />intended to be an annual amount for the purchase of ambulances for the <br />four area rescue squads. Henry County has committed $50,000 for this <br />item in the FY 92-93 Budget. The City Manager's budget proposal <br />contains no funding for this item. <br /> <br />Council considered the budget request of the Gateway Streetscape <br />Foundation in the amount of $7,500.
